Imagine Your Ideal Living Space

Imagine your ideal living space.  What does it look like?  What is your vision for your home, your family, your life?  How do you feel when you come home at the end of the day, when you open the door and walk into your space?  Do you feel a sense of calm and serenity when you walk through the door or do you feel stress and anxiety when you think about what needs to be done.  Are you overwhelmed by the clutter?

Lets just take a tour through your home….Imagine yourself walking in your front door.  What do you see…are there any smells there….what do you smell… it pleasant, unpleasant…..what does this space tell you about your home, about yourself… it a welcoming, comforting space….how does it make you feel?   Is this a space where you want to spend time alone, with family, with friends?  Is this a positive and pleasant space?

Now lets move on to the living room.  Imagine yourself standing in this space.  What do you see?  Do you have piles of stuff in the corners and you don’t even know what is under them?  What else do you see….How does it make you feel? ……what activities do you like to do here in this room….Perhaps you like to watch movies with your family or you like to read or write or do crafts.  How do you make space for yourself and those activities….How would you like this space to look…….

Now lets move on to the kitchen…..what do you see here….how does it feel to be in this room…..what kinds of smells are here…..are there great food smells wafting from the room…..what is in your cupboards, your fridge… you have rotting food in there……are your counters so full that there is no space to prepare food so you have to eat out most nights…..what does this say about you and your family….what kind of food do you put into your body and how well do you care for yourself… you like to cook and eat healthy food… you eat at the counter, tv or computer or do you take the time to eat at a table….how would you like your kitchen to look….what activities do you see yourself doing in your kitchen….would you like to entertain more…would you like to eat healthier foods…how well do you nourish yourself…

Lets move on to your bedroom….what is your bedroom like?  How does it feel to walk into this room… this an inviting space, are there some great smells here…is this a place for rest and relaxation…do you love your bed…do you have great sleeps here and wake up refreshed ready to take on the day….is this a sacred space for you… there beauty and love here….are there activities you would like to be doing in here that you are not doing…what do you want to make space for in your life?

Questions to ponder:

1 .  Where are you feeling stuck in your life?

2.  How do you make space for yourself in your home, in your life?

3.  How well do you care for yourself?

4.  What would you like to make space for?
