My Dreams For The Future

Have you heard that clutter can be about dreams we have for the future?  This is not a bad thing as we all need to have our dreams.  It also can be said that clutter is hanging on to the past (memories) and dreams (or worries) about the future.   In my past, you might not know this about me, I was an avid quilter.  I associated with other like minded quilter friends and spent a lot of time at home creating and sewing my little heart out.  It was a lot of fun and I was in my happy place when I was sewing.  I have good feelings about this time in my life.  I also was involved in a number of quilt shows with my friends.

This is a picture of a quilt I made for my mom back in the fall of 2006.

In all fairness to myself I did make a quilt for my beautiful granddaughter for her first birthday (last year).   It is a fairly quick pattern (all on the machine) and I really enjoyed working on this piece with love to give it to my special granddaughter.

So, anyway, I still have the dream of getting back into some quilting for the future (when my life slows down someday he he!) I definitely have some “UFO’s” (Unfinished Objects)   Perhaps I can make a plan to look at all the beautiful fabric and UFO’s I have and think about what I can make time for or what I can let go of?

So glad you alerted me to your blog, loved the pics and those quilts! Brought back great memories and your thoughts on decluttering are right on.
Dealing with a lot of this stuff as we get ready for our move.

Thanks so much Jacky – that means a lot to me. Stay tuned as one of my goals is to actually look through and sort out my fabric, I am also thinking about some fabric arts that I could do. Packing and moving gives you a great opportunity to declutter and downsize. I hope it all goes well for you both!! xoxo
